Transponder Key Programming
Most vehicles since the late 1990s use a transponder chip embedded in the key that the immobilizer system must recognize before the car will start. Call to confirm your vehicle.

A transponder key looks like an ordinary metal key but has a small chip inside that communicates with your vehicle's immobilizer system -- if the chip isn't recognized, the car may crank but won't start, even with the correct-looking key. Programming a new or replacement transponder key is a different job from cutting the physical blade, and different from fob button programming (which handles remote lock/unlock functions, not the immobilizer). Whether we can program on-site depends on your vehicle's specific security system and how many working keys you currently have. Call with your vehicle's year, make, and model, and we'll confirm whether we can help before any technician is scheduled.
What to have ready when you call: your vehicle's year, make, and model, whether you have any working key already, and whether this is a lost-all-keys situation or a spare/replacement, so we can confirm whether we can help before any technician is scheduled.
